Vacancies at Bishop Stopford’s School

Due to ongoing improvements in the school and an increase in student numbers, we have a number of job opportunities available for 2023.

We are a Voluntary Aided Church of England School in Enfield, North London within easy access of the M25.  The School operates a pastoral House System and has a strong Christian ethos which you would also be expected to support. The successful candidate will complement and support the professional work of teachers by ensuring that the achievement, behaviour, attendance and punctuality related policies of the school are carried out and assist in the day-to-day running of the relevant year group under the supervision of the Head of Year.  This will include the implementation of agreed programmes with individuals or groups, in and out of the classroom.  You will support teachers and support staff in addressing the needs of all students but especially those students who need particular help to oversee barriers to learning and establish and maintain productive working relationships with students, acting as a role model and mentor, establish constructive relationships with students and parent/carers; interact with and support the students according to their individual needs and to support their achievements, behaviour, attendance and punctuality.

We seek to appoint a Head of History to lead and manage staff within the History department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning and successful student outcomes. You will develop schemes of work and resources in line with curriculum requirements, which ensure the effective teaching and progress of students within History and devise assessments which accurately monitor students’ knowledge, skills and progress. The successful candidate will provide up to date and accurate reports on the progress of students and the impact of department strategy as required and monitor standards within the department through data analysis, lesson observations, work scrutiny, learning walks and student voice questionnaires.

We seek to appoint a Design and Technology Teacher with the necessary skills to be able to deliver KS3 DT on a termly rotation, KS4 or KS5 vocational Engineering and teach maths for a minimum of 8 hrs per cycle. The candidate will need to implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum for students. Supporting curriculum areas as appropriate, monitoring and supporting the overall progress and development of students as a teacher/form tutor; contribute to raising standards of student attainment, whilst sharing and supporting the school’s responsibility to provide and monitor opportunities for personal and academic growth. The successful candidate will assist the Head of Faculty and the Deputy Head for Teaching and Learning to ensure that the curriculum area provides a range of teaching and compliments the school’s strategic objectives.
