Founder’s Day

Founder’s Day is an annual celebration and tradition that is now being celebrated on Wednesday 9th July at 2pm in the school hall.

This visiting preaching is Pastor Gavin Childress, from the Grace Baptist Church in Tottenham. Pastor Gavin has written books on the teachings found in Luke’s Gospel and is a Stopfordian parent.

The service is a celebration of the life of the school and has taken place annually since it’s foundation in 1967. Each year the newly appointed prefects present the school roll and a camomile plant. This traditional dates back to the first Head Teacher Dr Roberts who used the Shakespearean phrase to illustrate one of the many strengths of the school.

‘The camomile, the more it is trodden on, the faster it grows’.
