Celebrating Exam Success

After two very unsettled years for our students, as a result of COVID-19, it was wonderful this summer to be able to welcome our students into school to collect their examination results, and to celebrate their many successes with them in person.

We are absolutely delighted with the achievements of our students in both Year 11 and Year 13, and are immensely proud of how hard they worked in order to gain the excellent results that they so deserved.

In year 13, our students studied a range of A Levels in subjects such as biology, chemistry, history, maths and sociology, alongside vocational level 3 qualifications in business, engineering, health and social care, sport, ICT and science.  Their success this year has enabled them to continue with their educational journey onto universities around the country.  It was fantastic to see so many of our students progress onto degree courses at their first choice universities, in disciplines such as pharmacy, psychology, chiropractic medicine and computer science.

Our top achieving student leaves us having achieved 4 and a half level 3 qualifications, achieving an A* in Persian, a Distinction* in ICT, a Distinction in applied science and a Merit in engineering.

In year 11, we were equally delighted to celebrate the successes of our students, whose achievement this year has meant that all have gained qualifications enabling them to access further education, with 85% of them eligible to continue their 6th form studies with us.  As a result of the fantastic results that they achieved our students have chosen to continue their studies in an array of A Levels and level 3 qualifications including A Level biology, chemistry, economics, English Literature, history, law, maths, pure maths and politics.

Particular highlights for our Year 11 students this year include:

  • 83% of our students achieved at least a grade 4 in English
  • Over 2/3 of our students achieved at least a grade 4 in maths
  • There were 14 grade 9s awarded to our students this year in subjects such as English, biology, chemistry and history
  • A total of 148 grades awarded to our students were equivalent grade 7 or above
  • 80 of our students achieved 5 or more GCSEs at a grade 4 or above
  • Our top 5 achieving students achieved grade 7 or above in all of their qualifications

We are very proud of all of our students, for all that they achieved this year and we continue to wish them every success as they embark on the next, exciting stage of their educational journeys.
