Year 10 Trial Exams

Please see the attached letter to parents with an update to the forthcoming Year 10 Trial exams starting on Wednesday 18th March
Dear Parents/ Carers,
As you will be aware from our school calendar, the first trial examinations for Year 10 students are scheduled to take place from Wednesday 18th March. Students will have exams for all of their GCSE subjects, providing them with an opportunity to gain valuable practice in exams. A general timetable detailing the date and time of each of these exams is attached to this letter.
Please note that students will be dismissed to go home straight after their afternoon exam. Please refer to your son/daughter’s individual timetable for exact timings for this. These were distributed to students on Monday 9th March.
In addition to the work that students are completing in class, we will also be spending tutorial time this week, focusing on study and exam skills in order to ensure that every student is fully prepared for their trial exams. We will also be working with the students to devise a revision schedule that will enable them to fully prepare for this important time in their educational career.
Throughout the trial exam period, students will be expected to arrive to school at normal time and to wear full school uniform as usual. The school expectations regarding conduct and arrival to school will also still apply.
Please refer to the GCSE information available on the school website for further information about resources and websites that your son/daughter can use in order to prepare for these exams. Attached is also more specific guidance for each subject with regard to how the students will be assessed in each subject in their final exams and the key content that they need to familiarise themselves with for the trial examinations.
Thank you as always for your continued support. We wish all of Year 10 every success in their trial exams and as always we look forward to sharing their results with you once marking is complete.
With all best wishes
