Celebrating Our Best GCSE Results in Four Years

We are proud to celebrate an exceptional year of GCSE results at Bishop Stopford's School, with the Class of 2026 achieving our strongest overall attainment outcomes in the last four years. These outstanding results reflect the hard work, determination and resilience of our students, supported every step of the way by dedicated staff, parents and carers.

This year's achievements include the highest number of students securing Grade 4+ and Grade 5+ passes in both English and Mathematics for four years, alongside the school's strongest Attainment 8 score during the same period. Across a wide range of academic, creative and technical subjects, students have demonstrated remarkable success, opening the door to exciting opportunities in Sixth Form, further education and future careers.

We congratulate every member of Year 11 on their achievements and invite you to read more about their successes below.

We are delighted this year to celebrate another fantastic set of GCSE results, with our students achieving the school's best overall attainment outcomes in the past four years.

These results represent the culmination of years of hard work, determination and resilience from our Year 11 students. Their commitment to their studies, combined with the dedication of our staff and the unwavering support of parents and carers, has led to significant improvements across the curriculum and some of the strongest outcomes the school has seen in recent years.

Particularly pleasing is the fact that this cohort achieved the highest number of students securing both English and Mathematics at Grade 4+ and Grade 5+ in the last four years, a significant achievement that will enable our students to progress confidently onto the next stage of their education and future careers.

The school also recorded its highest Attainment 8 score and strongest overall attainment profile in four years, demonstrating the breadth of success achieved across a wide range of subjects.

There were many outstanding performances across the curriculum. Our STEM subjects continue to be a major strength, with excellent outcomes in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Engineering. These results highlight the strength of our curriculum and the growing number of students choosing to pursue ambitious pathways in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Alongside these successes, students also performed strongly in a number of facilitating and academic subjects, including English Language, English Literature, History and French, providing a strong foundation for students progressing to A Levels and other advanced qualifications.  The creative talents of our students also shone through, with very pleasing outcomes in Hospitality and Catering and Art - both of which saw the strongest results to date.

These successes reflect not only the hard work of our students but also the commitment of teachers and support staff who have worked tirelessly to provide high-quality teaching, targeted intervention and personalised support throughout students' educational journey.

We are incredibly proud that many of our students will now continue their studies in the Sixth Form, pursuing A Levels and Level 3 qualifications in subjects including the Sciences, Engineering, Mathematics, English Literature, History and a wide range of other academic and vocational disciplines. These destinations reflect both the aspirations of our students and the strength of the opportunities available to them.

I would like to thank our staff and families for their unwavering support and commitment. We look forward to seeing our students continue to thrive as they progress to A Levels, Level 3 qualifications and other exciting opportunities. They have every reason to be proud, and we wish them every success as they embark on the next part of their educational journey."
