GCSE Options Evening

I am writing to remind you of the GCSE Options Evening which is due to take place on Thursday 3rd November at 5:30pm in the main school hall. This important event which has been arranged for Year 9 students and their parents will discuss the Key Stage 4 option choices we offer at Bishop Stopford’s School. The purpose of the evening is to inform both students and parents of the different choices available, and give them the opportunity to speak to key teachers and Heads of Department.

Sixth Form are launching a book club !

The Sixth Form are launching a book club to which staff are invited.

The first book will be ‘The Book Thief’ by Markus Zusak. If you’d like to take part please read the book and we will have a discussion group in the new library 4 weeks into the next half term – round about 25th November. Please let me know if you are taking part so that I have an idea of numbers.

Geography Trip to Canary Wharf

1Last week, ten lucky Year 8 students who are part of the Geography ‘Water Explorer’ Club, were invited to visit HSBC Headquarters in Canary Wharf. Chosen from 500 teams from across the country; Tylan, Zayn, Reilly, Savvas, Antonio, Alexander, Anna, Rachael, Rianna and Pilar competed at the National Celebration Event.

GCSE Exam Results 2016

20160825_093800Students at Bishop Stopford’s school make good progress under new government measures. Congratulations to all the students who have just received their exam results. Mrs Day would like to thank the students, parents and teachers who have all worked very hard in delivering these results. The students were committed and focused throughout the exam period and this has paid off with terrific outcomes with some of our best students getting A*/A grades across the board.

We look forward to this year and the exciting new specifications for many A level and GCSE courses. No doubt our students will once again commit to their studies with enthusiasm and determination and far exceed every expectation.
