Year 9 Geography field trip

BSSnewlogowebI am pleased to inform you of the Year 9 Geography field trip to Walton-on-the-Naze, which will be taking place on Friday 17th June 2016.

Your son/daughter is being offered this opportunity to experience a coastal area first hand, before they begin their Geography GCSE course in September.

We will be leaving at 07.45, and should be back at school by 16.30, depending on traffic.

The total cost of this trip will be £18.00 per person. The price is based on 45 students attending, and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. The cost of the trip includes transport, entrance to the Naze Tower, and an educational talk whilst inside. Students will be completing field work on the beach, and have an opportunity to visit the pier and the arcade in the afternoon. I would recommend providing your child with some spending money and a packed lunch.

A £18.00 payment needs to be received by 8th June 2016 to confirm your son/daughter’s place, which will be given on a first come, first served basis. Please send cheques in an envelope clearly marked with your son/daughter’s name, enclosing the completed ‘Consent and Payment’ form, and ‘Personal and Medical’ forms, that are with this letter, by  8th June 2016. A receipt will be issued once payment is received.  All cheques should be payable to BSSFF.

Please note that if your child pays for their place on the trip, we will be unable to refund any money for students that withdraw due to the full amount of the trip being paid over to the company.  We require a written confirmation for any student pulling out of the trip after the initial consent has been received.

It is the policy of the Governors of Bishop Stopford’s School that no student should be disadvantaged through financial hardship. Families who find themselves in this situation should contact the Bursary for further information before the deposit deadline.  All information will be held in the strictest of confidence.  Please note that insufficient voluntary contributions will mean that the trip will be unable to proceed.

Students will only be allowed to participate in this trip if they have a good behaviour and attendance record.

Yours sincerely,
Miss L. Colet
