Year 12 and Year 13 Business (AQA)

 

 

The Business AS/A-level course is designed to equip students with a knowledge and appreciation of the most relevant topics in the business world, as well as the importance and impact of decision making.

 

AS and A-level Business is 100% exam assessed and consists of two exams at the end of Year 12 if students wish to only acquire an AS qualification, or three exams at the end of Year 13 if students wish to acquire an A-level qualification.

Paper 1: Business 1

All content from AS will be assessed

Written exam: 1 hour 30 minutes

80 marks

50% of AS

Questions:

Section A: 10 multiple choice questions (10 marks)

Section B: short answer questions (20 marks)

Section C: two data response stimuli with questions (approximately 25 marks each)

 

 

Paper 2: Business 2

All content from AS will be assessed

Written exam: 1 hour 30 minutes

80 marks

50% of AS

Questions:

One case study consisting of approximately seven questions

Written exam: 2 hours

Section A: 15 multiple choice questions (15 marks)

Section B: short answer questions (35 marks)

Sections C and D: two essay questions, choice of one from two and one from two (25 marks each)

 

Paper 2: Business 2

All content from AS and A2 will be assessed

Written exam: 2 hours

100 marks

33.3% of AS

Questions:

Three data response questions, made up of three or four part questions (approx. 33 marks each)

 

Paper 3: Business 3

All content from AS and A2 will be assessed

Written exam: 2 hours

One case study followed by approximately six questions.
