Y10 Football Triumph

Y10 had a disappointing season last year and with a new manager in Mr Gallacher there was a degree of renewed optimism in the air. The team took on a new look with new faces and played a 2-2-3-2-1 formation. Mr Gallacher delivered a passionate team talk and instilled his confidence in Kodel to wear the captains armband. The Bishops team started well and dominated procession with the combination of Mete, Kodel and Walid in the middle. Emmanuel took on the challenge of filling in as centre back and had his own David and Goliath story.

To sum up his game, Emmanuel was superb with his feet but disappointing in the air. To highlight two more incidents; Kodel played a sweet aerial through ball to kolanji, hitting the ball on the volley first time, smashing the back of the net. Replays show the ball hit his knee, rolled down his shin and flicked off his toes. Finally a sterling performance from Joabe, he commanded the right flank of the pitch and pulled off a double nutmeg. As a result he was subbed if only to give their full back a break. Roll on the next challenge!
