On Monday 10th February, Chino Ihesiene from 10L did Bishop Stopford proud as he competed in “The Jack Petchy Speak Out Challenge”. The audience included the Mayor of Enfield, Kate Anolue and local MP Bambos Charalambous.Rachael Chyke from 11P, runner up from last year’s competition was invited back this year to join the judging panel.
The challenge began back in December where twenty-five Y10 students were selected to compete in an internal workshop where six finalists were chosen to go through to the first round.
The candidates spent a whole day with a representative from Jack Petchy, battling it out; From posture to eye contact to the all-important vocals, everybody worked hard to get to the next round, but there could only be six finalists. These included:
Zunara Kaisar
Isabella Otchere
Chino Ihesience
Jessica Kerollas
Calum Johnson
Ruth Essesien
A tough choice for the English department as all presented excellent speeches, but Chino Ihesience took the crown and went on to compete in the Finals.
