Dear Parents and Carers,
Whilst it has been quite mild up until now, the forecasters are beginning to talk about a change in the weather and it is likely that we will see some snow at some point this term. As a precaution I thought it useful to remind parents about our procedure for snow days.
It is always my intention to remain open whatever the weather whenever possible and I am proud that last year we lost very little learning time because of the weather.
In the unlikely event that we are not able to open because the school site is not safe or insufficient staff are able to get to school a notice will be added to the front page of the school website www.bishopstopfords.enfield.sch.uk and an email to parents will be sent by 6.30am. If no such actions have been taken, please assume the school is open as usual. If the school has to be closed then we will always aim to open again on the next day.
Very occasionally, it has been necessary to close the school early to ensure that the students are able to get home safely when a weather event is closing in. If this were the case, we would email and text message parents by 1.00pm. Again, if the school has to be closed early then we will always aim to open again on the next day.
