POSSIBLE RETURN TO SCHOOL
On Sunday and throughout this week the Prime Minister and his Government have been slowly releasing guidance on how we might return to school. The first phase of wider opening of educational and childcare settings is likely to begin from the 1st of June with the Government asking nurseries and other early years settings to open to all children; primary schools to welcome back pupils to Nursery, Reception, year 1 and year 6 (including in middle schools); secondary schools and colleges to offer some face to face support for children and young people in year 10 and year 12 to supplement their remote education, depending on the most up-to-date assessment of the risk posed by the virus. This said, it is unlikely that current years 7,8, and 9 will return before the summer, although we are adapting to updates as and when we receive them. Of course, the sooner we are all back in school the better.

24TH April 2020
Welcome back to the Summer term I trust that you all had a little rest from the online schooling over Easter. It appears that schools are unlikely to reopen for all students until June and moving forward I would like to clarify for you our intentions with regard learning, reporting and rewarding. It is essential that we, where possible, deliver as normal a programme of education as could be expected under the current circumstances.

Dear Parents /Carers,
As you’re probably aware, the Government’s guidance on the coronavirus has changed from the ‘contain’ phase to one of delaying the spread of the virus. We’re getting in touch to let you know what we’re doing in light of this, and what we expect from all of you, to help make sure our school community keeps safe and calm.
We’d like to reassure you that at Bishop Stopford’s School, we’re taking all of the necessary steps to protect our community and are continuing to follow official guidance from the government.
Any decision to close the school in the future would be made on the advice of Public Health England.
