To the parents, Wishing you all a very happy and restful Summer break

We are fast approaching the end of the school year and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy and restful Summer break.

The past week has been a busy one, with all of our students taking part in various educational challenges and school trips.  Our Year 10 students have worked diligently to complete their end of year exams, preparing them for the important year ahead.

When we return in September, arrangements for the new school year are as follows:

Thursday 4th September :               Staff INSET day – School closed to students.

Friday 5th September:                       Year 7 and Year 12 Induction Day

Monday 8th September:                  All Year groups (Year 7 -13) attend school as normal

                                                                        8.30am start.

The full school calendar outlining the events of the year including parents’ evenings, term dates and whole school activities will be distributed to all students when they return in September.  Alternatively, this information can be accessed now via the school website at http://www.bishopstopfords.enfield.sch.uk/

As you will be aware from the information that was sent out on the Year 6 Taster day, Year 7 students will start their educational journey with us as of Friday 5th September.  Only Year 7 and Year 12 students will be in school on this day, which will be used as a formal induction into school life at Bishop Stopford’s School.

Year 7 students are expected to arrive in school from 8.15am onwards, ready for a Year assembly at 8.35am.  You are more than welcome to drop your son/daughter in the front foyer of the school on 5th September, where they will be greeted and directed to join the rest of their form class.

The induction day will involve students spending time in tutor groups with their form tutor and Head of Year familiarising themselves with the systems and routines of our school.  From 11.30am onwards, students will then attend normal timetabled lessons.  The school day is due to finish following afternoon registration at 3.15pm.

Monday 8th September will be a normal school day for all students, with the usual 8.30am start.

Please be aware that the full school calendar outlining the events of the year including parents’ evenings, term dates and whole school activities will be distributed to all students during the induction day and will be sent home with them for your information.   The calendar can also be accessed now via the school website at http://www.bishopstopfords.enfield.sch.uk/

I look forward to seeing all of the new Year 7 students on their return in September, ready for an exciting and productive academic year.

Kind regards

Paul Woods
