This summer, Bishop Stopford’s students have been out and about developing their sports leadership skills and qualities and lending a hand to our local primary schools. The Yr10 GCSE PE group helped out St John and St James’ last minute and undertook a variety of activities at the Fredrick Knight Sports Arena. This has helped us to build a closer link with the school and hopefully will encourage more of our students to help run sports activities throughout the forthcoming year. Their sports day may even be run at Bishops next year!
We also helped our neighbours Suffolks during their sports week on a number of occasions. 7N and 7M girls PE groups were in charge for the Yr1&2 sports mornings, whilst our Level 3 BTec Sports Ambassadors ran events for Yr’s 3&4 and 5&6.
All students showed excellent sports leadership qualities and earned themselves Stopfordian Ethos points. It is wonderful to see many of our students taking responsibility of younger children and showing our school in such a positive and mature manner. Well done to each and everyone of you!
