Dear Parent(s)/Carer(s) of students in Year 10
We would like to inform you of a trip that has been organised by the London Metropolitan University on Wednesday the 13th July 2016 during the Challenge Week.
Th trip is an excellent opportunity for your son/daughter to gain an insight into university life and will provide them with valuable information about higher education and what it entails.
The day will include mock lectures delivered by university professors, tutors and lecturers. Students will have the chance to work with experienced academics and current students to produce and take part in live projects. They will also get the opportunity to have a tour of the facilities offered by the London Metropolitan University.
The trip is free of charge though students will need to bring their own packed lunch and drink for the day. If your son/daughter currently receives free school meals then a packed lunch will be provided for them. Students need to wear smart dress and should arrive at school for 8.30 a.m. The coach will depart at this time and it will not be possible to wait for latecomers.
We will be leaving the university at 2.30 p.m., returning to school for approximately 3.30 p.m., traffic permitting.
This is obviously a fantastic chance for our Year 10 students to see what their educational future holds and will be hugely beneficial to all who attend.
If you are happy for your son/daughter to attend the trip, please can you complete and sign the consent slip below and return to Miss Miller, via the main office, by Monday 13th June 2016.
The University might want to use pictures taken on the day for their brochure or website, can you also please advise us if you give them permission to do by signing the second slip.
Please do not hesitate to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org should you have any further questions.
