Dear staff and students,
I am happy to inform you that Bishop Stopford’s School will be supporting the North Enfield Foodbank this December.
Every day people in the UK go hungry for many reasons, but just a small box of food can make a big difference.
Foodbanks provide emergency food to people in crisis and their need is increasingly important during the winter period. North Enfield Foodbank is part of The Trussell Trust’s network of foodbanks that work to tackle food poverty and hunger across the UK.
Bishop Stopford’s School has arranged to donate to North Enfield Foodbank on the 14th December.
It would be appreciated if you could donate non-perishable food items from the list below.
These are the dates in which the foodbank will collect donations from the school this winter:
Tuesday 4th December 2018
Thursday 6th December 2018
Monday 10th December 2018
Wednesday 12th December 2018
Friday 14th December 2018
Donation boxes will be held in the reception area and brought to the green space by Year 10 volunteers and Year 7 form captains. One to two pupils will be responsible for each form in taking their form’s donations to reception during form time on the allocated days.
1 point will be given to each tutor group for every item brought in.
The tutor group with the most points in each year group will be given a prize on the last day of school.
There will be other events and opportunities for tutor groups to collect additional points!
Sixth form students and teachers are open to donate at any time during their break and lunch times.
*It would be appreciated if all food donations are non-perishable (food items that do not need to be stored in refrigerators and have a long shell life)
