On Tuesday 16th July, Bishop Stopford’s staff and students came together to complete a whole school charity walk in association with Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life schools programme. Ms Williams and Ms Miller were on hand during lunch time selling cakes to prepare students for the event and raise some extra money for the charity. After lunch break we set off at 2pm completing a 45 minute walk around the school site, each lap was 1km in distance and participants could choose the rate at which they competed. It was a fantastic event where the whole school came together in order to raise awareness and money for an important charity. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all participants and thank you for all donations made. Bishop Stopford’s looks forward to organising more events for deserving charities in the future.
As a result of the school cake sale and donations made both on the day and online we have raised over £900 in total for Cancer Research!
