farmDear Parent/Guardian,

I am pleased to inform you of the Year 7 Geography trip to Holyfield Hall working farm, which will be taking place on Thursday 23rd June 2016.

This is an opportunity for your son/daughter to experience a working crop and dairy farm first hand, before they begin studying the topic of ‘Agriculture’ in Geography lessons.

If your son/daughter is in Group 1, they will be leaving school after morning registration, to return around 12.30. They will be able to have lunch at second break and attend lessons for Period 4 and 5.

If your son/daughter is in Group 2, they will be leaving school at 12.30, to return around 15.15. They will attend lessons for Period 1, 2 and 3 but will miss second break. We recommend that your son/daughter eats lunch at first break.

Your son/daughter will be notified which group they are in closer to the trip date.

The total cost of this trip will be £13.00 per person. The price is based on 131 Students attending, which is what we are aiming for. The cost of the trip includes transport, entrance fee and a professional guided tour around Holyfield Hall Farm.

A £13.00 non-refundable payment needs to be received by 26th May 2016 to confirm your son/daughter’s place and so we can book the Trip.  Please send cheques in an envelope clearly marked with your son/daughter’s name, enclosing the completed ‘Consent and Payment’ form, and ‘Personal and Medical’ forms, that are with this letter, by  26th May 2016. A receipt will be issued once payment is received.  All cheques should be payable to BSSFF.

Please note that we will be unable to refund any money for students that withdraw from the trip due to the full amount of the trip being paid over to the company.  We require a written confirmation for any student pulling out of the trip after the initial consent has been received.

It is the policy of the Governors of Bishop Stopford’s School that no student should be disadvantaged through financial hardship. Families who find themselves in this situation should contact the Bursary for further information before the deposit deadline.  All information will be held in the strictest of confidence.  Please note that insufficient voluntary contributions will mean that the trip will be unable to proceed.

Students will only be allowed to participate in this trip if they have a good behaviour and attendance record.

Yours sincerely,

Miss L. Colet
Subject Leader of Geography
