As you are possibly aware, this weekend the charity event Sport Relief begins and we as a school are keen to show our support for this worthy cause. All money raised is used to make a difference right here in the UK and 50% goes towards transforming lives across the world’s poorest countries.
The students of Bishop Stopford’s School have played a key role in deciding the fundraising events for Sport Relief. Charity leaders and the PE department have worked together to choose the activities and fundraising ideas.
As well as a staff netball match and sponsored walk, we will also be holding a ‘Wear it Red’ day which will take place on Monday 21st March. Students and staff can donate £2.00 to wear something red for the day. All funds raised for this event will be donated to Sport Relief and the many projects the charity supports.
Students are expected to dress appropriately for a normal school day and wear at least one item of red clothing in order to mark the event. Crop tops, skirts and inappropriate footwear are not permitted on the day and if this is not followed, students are at risk of being sent home. Those students involved in the Rewards drop down day are still required to wear their PE kits as some will be taken off site and need to be easily identifiable when representing the school.
Please support us in our campaign in whatever way that you can by providing donations for our sponsored walk, wearing something red on Monday or simply reinforcing the cause of the charity at home. We look forward to sharing with you further details of our campaign and our successes this week.
With Best Wishes
